The Perfect Homemade (and Hassle-Free!) Pumpkin Pie Recipe

I know I rarely post recipes but this pumpkin pie looks easy and amazing!

Now that you’ve mastered the apple pie, it only makes sense to move on to pumpkin, no? Get a heads up on the holiday season by making this fuss-free homemade dessert tonight:

Makes: One 9-inch pie

What You’ll Need:

For the Crust:

  • One 9-inch store bought crust (or follow the directions below to make the crust from scratch)
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 12 tablespoons butter, cold, unsalted (cut into 1/2 inch cubes)
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

For the Filling:

  • 3 large eggs (room temp)
  • One 15-ounce can of pure pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup half and half (or cream)
  • 1/3 cup + 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons  flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

    • I agree! I haven’t made nearly enough yet this year! Thanksgiving will be my go to pie-making time though. You should try this one! It looks awesome.
