Toilet paper in plastic is ugly, right? I think we can all agree on that. We can’t make the TP look better so my plan is to make the presentation look better. For this DIY project I made a TP holder for the bathroom. Since my bathroom is mostly green and blue I chose a striped green and blue scrapbook paper. You can use whatever you would like, but make sure the paper is thin. No card stock for this one.
Remove the lid. Then, Measure your oatmeal container so that you can cut your scrapbook paper. Make sure the paper fits under the lip of the tin.
Brush on a very thin layer of Mod Podge from the bottom to the top of the oatmeal container.
Place one side of the paper onto the line of glue. Press down on the paper with your finger (from top to bottom) to make sure it adheres without bubbles.
brush a thin line of glue up the container where the paper ends. You want to make sure it will stick.
roll the paper around and brush another thin layer of Mod Podge on the under side of the paper (where it meets the other edge of the paper). Let it dry. Then, add another thin layer to the top where the paper meets.
*If your paper wasn’t long enough to meet the other edge, then glue it to the oatmeal container and repeat with a second sheet of scrapbook paper until the container is covered.
Turn your oatmeal container upside down so you are looking at the bottom of it. While ignoring my chipping fingernail polish, look at the area of the paper I’m pulling at. You are going to want to add a very small amount of glue into this area (or the whole way around the container if necessary). The paper doesn’t have to be plastered against the edge, but you don’t want it to rip because it is too loose. Let it dry.
Grab two rolls of toilet paper and drop them into the container. Reattach the lid.
