Twisted Disney Princess Artwork

This twisted Disney Princess art was created by Jeffrey Thomas. Jeffrey is a character designer, concept artist, and story artist residing in Burbank, CA.

This artwork is pretty amazing, mostly because I have an attachment to the characters. What little girl wouldn’t have? I know I spent hours and hours watching a rewatching disney movies. My parents can attest to this. I’m sure they would be perfectly happy if they never saw a disney princess again…

I really love the twisted disney princess concept but these may have ruin my childhood. I think I’m okay with it!

Let me know what you think!

The Matboard: Social bookmarking for Creative Professionals

I recently wrote a blog post for the company that I work about the Matboard, which I was unfamiliar with at the time.  I’ve become so obsessed with this website that I just have to share it with you!

the-matboard-image-layout

The Matboard is a social bookmarking site (much like Pinterest) that allows creative professionals to share, inspire and explore while matting  advertisements, magazine covers, photography, infographics, etc. to their personal boards. The Matboard can also be integrated with Facebook and Twitter for easy sharing or finding of friends. The site was launched about a week ago and has has been given some serious attention. I honestly think this site is better than Pinterest, but I may be biased I am a creative. When I want to find design inspiration or am looking for something specifically design related in Pinterest I end up having to search through recipes and wedding dresses before I find what I was searching for. The Matboard, however, provides me with a bevy of design inspiration that I can actually use.

the-matboard-image-viewer

The Matboard’s search view is designed in tile boards, much like Pinterest’s design. When you click on an image you will see a variety of options like in the image above. Unfortunately, My screen in smaller so I can’t show you the whole screen. You will have to check it out yourself ;-)

How can creative professionals use the Matboard:

  • Searching for inspirations: There are 2,000+ items posted to the Matboard at this time.
  • Career advancements: Creative users can upload their work to a Matboard to ensure exposure.
  • Self-promotions: Contact the makers for information about self-promotion via the Matboard help page.
  • Project Moodboards: The Matboard allows users to collect imagery, colors, and typography and visually organize it on a specific Matboard to create an ideal look and feel for a project.
  • Networkings: Users are able to follow other creatives, view their profiles, and learn more about them and their careers (assuming all of that information is posted.

Amazing website!

Gift idea for Guys

My boyfriend likes beer on occasion and I like typography. So, one of the gifts I am going to give him is one that I’ve made. The typography consists of all of the brands of beer that he enjoys. Photoshop is a wonderful tool :-)

Ronit Bigal

“Body Scripture II” is Ronit Bigal’s new exhibition at the Artists House. It is a combination of Photography, Calligraphy and floral ornamentation. Ronit uses digital photography topped with drawings in black Indian ink which produces a base-relief effect.

Bigal starts by photographing a completely exposed body and explores different areas of it with her lens. She wraps parts of her photos with floral ornamentation and others with cited calligraphy taken from Biblical texts. They are abstract and mysterious. This approach arouses the viewer’s curiosity to discover what the photographed parts are and what the text really means. This artist is a genius!

Anna Marine

I’ve been following Anna Marine (Czech Republic) on Deviant Art for a few years now. She is an inspiring artist! Her work is cartoony and dark and her inspiration comes from mysticism, gothic, folklore and others. All images were taking from her gallery on Deviant Art.

Anna is a professional illustrator and alt model. She was born and raised in Moscow and Prague. She’s been drawing since the childhood. Anna’s areas of creativity include mysticism, gothic style, folklore and others.
Anna’s professional career began in 2010, collaborating with Rusian publishing house AST (for which she’s creating covers for authors,C. Harris, P.Briggs, J.Rardin, K.Richardson, C.M. Green and others) and French publishers Editions-cauchemars.Since then she’s been working with various companies in Europe and USA promoting her art. In 2011 she released her iTunes app for iphone and ipad. She’s also had to opportunity to collaborate with Nightwish band, making a cartoon t-shirt design for them based on Imaginaerum album style.
Currently she is working as a designer with one of the biggest and oldest clothing brands – Spiral direct.
